LCAN sponsored one of the 1400+ Step It Up 2007 events held
around the US on 14 April 07. US Rep. John Yarmuth spoke to the
crowd, numbering 250+, despite
cold, rain and wind. UofL students
made posters and rode their bikes
from campus to the LCAN event at
the federal office building,
downtown.

At the BBC's 4th Street location, LCAN hosted a public
party for watching the Live Earth concerts held in nine
cities around the world on 07.07.07.

In Nov 07, Louisvillians joined others from across the US for the Step It Up 2007 "Who's a Leader?" event. Outside Metro Hall, we heard remarks by US Rep John Yarmuth and Art Williams, now retired from the Metro Air Pollution Control District, listened to live music by danny flanigan and put on participatory street theater. On Oct 24th, people from Louisville and 4,000+ other places around the planet called for reducing greenhouse gas levels to 350 ppm. Here, on the Great Lawn, we heard inspiring speakers and music, learned about steps for reducing carbon footprints and spelled out a human '350' for an aerial photographer. More photos here and here.
