CLEAN POWER RESOLUTION
You can help persuade Louisville's Metro Council to power Metro on 100% clean, renewable power!
Did you know LG&E offers Renewable Energy Credit Power from Illinois wind turbines for a small surcharge?
At 350.org-Louisville's request, Metro Council President David James has introduced a “Resolution for 100% Clean Energy for Metro Louisville.” On October 25th and November 8th, it will be heard by the Parks and Sustainability Committee: Chair Cindi Fowler (D-14), Brandon Coan (D-8), James Peden (R-23), Glen Stuckel (R-17) and Vicki Welch (D-13). Want to advocate for its passage?
Before Thursday, NOVEMBER 8th:
Write, email, call or visit a Parks and Sustainability Committee member to share why their support for the resolution matters to you.
Do the same with your own Councilperson if not on that committee. (Identify your Metro Council person here.)
Thursday, OCTOBER 25 and/or NOVEMBER 8th at 3PM:
Attend one or both committee meetings to show your support. Signs will be provided.
Attend the meeting when the resolution will be considered by the full council. Signs provided. (Watch this page for schedule changes, at least if we receive adequate advance notice.)
Submit a letter to the The Courier Journal editor (firstname.lastname@example.org).
All Council meetings are held on the 3rd floor of 601 W. Jefferson St.
