TAKE THIS SURVEY

Invest a few minutes in public transit!

Why take this short survey on TARC services -- NLT Friday, Sept. 20th?

Like nearly every US pubic transit system, TARC faces huge revenue losses.  Pandemic funding is ending, yet ridership is down due to increased working from home.

Next year, TARC must cut its services by 50%!  It will be forced to shorten routes, cut frequencies to impractical waits or a mix of both.  This fiscal crisis doesn't bode well for folks who can't work from home --- on whom we all depend --- or who can't drive where they must go, especially folks with disabilities.

Our health and climate also need a robust transit system.

OR with a small increase in occupational taxes, say, an extra nickel per $100 earned, TARC could update its routes and coverage of Metro Louisville and improve frequencies.

Read LCAN's letter to TARC's Board of Directors, then please take the survey before Friday, Sept. 20th.

LCAN asks you to take the TARC2025 survey no later than Friday, September 20th, please, in support of Louisville's Triple Bottom Line:

  • Social sustainability:  Access to reliable public transit is fundamental to advancing social equity.  Many of our neighbors depend on TARC to get to school, work, medical appointments and other essential activities.

  • Environmental sustainability:  Riding TARC helps public health by reducing air pollution, including greenhouse gases.

  • Economic sustainability:  Our economy depends on everyone being able to get to work, daycare, medical appointments and more.  We can't expect grocery shelves to be stocked if the stocker can't get to work.  Mobility fosters a more inclusive community.
